Pre/Post Treatment Recommendations

Getting Ready for Your Clarity II Treatment

We want you to have the best possible experience and results! Here are a few simple steps to follow before your Clarity II session:

  • Skip the Sun and Tanning: For at least two weeks before your appointment, please avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, or self-tanners. Try to stay out of direct sun for long periods, too.
  • Pause Certain Skincare Products: Hold off on using products with AHAs, BHAs, or retinoids for at least three days before your treatment.
  • Shave if Needed: If you’re coming in for hair removal, please shave the area 24 to 48 hours before your visit. Avoid tweezing or waxing between sessions.
  • Hydrate Well: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment to keep your skin in great shape.
  • Skip Lotions or Oils: Please don’t apply lotions or oils to the treatment area right before your session.

After Your Clarity II Treatment

You may notice a bit of redness or swelling after your treatment, but don’t worry—this is normal and usually goes away quickly. Here’s how to take care of your skin afterward:

  • Soothe Your Skin: If you feel any redness or swelling, a cool compress can help you feel more comfortable.
  • Stay Sun Safe: Protect your skin by using a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, and try to avoid direct sun exposure as much as possible.
  • Ongoing Sun Protection: Keeping up with sun protection is important, even after your treatment!
  • For Skin or Lesion Treatments: The treated area might shed or flake as pigmentation fades, or you may notice pigmentation gradually breaking up and being absorbed by your body.
  • For Hair Removal: You’ll likely notice your hair becoming thinner and less dense after just one session, with even better results as you continue your treatments.

Pre-Treatment Care (Preparation)

  • Hydration: Drink at least 2 liters of water per day for 2-3 days before the session to prep your lymphatic system.

  • Diet: Avoid alcohol, heavy, fatty, and processed foods for 24-48 hours prior to minimize liver workload.
